What if you could peek behind the curtain of some of the country’s best-known—and DC’s most creative—advertising agencies? Ad 2 DC’s newest event series, Agency After Hours, gives you exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of local agencies; sparks conversations with Ad 2 members, local ad professionals, and top leaders in the industry; and shares insights about Ad 2 all in one night, all for free.
Through these events, we’re making new connections with local agencies, including ones that weren’t previously involved with AAF DC or Ad 2 DC. The first Agency After Hours event was held at CHIEF Agency; our second was at Centro, a Digital Marketing Agency; the third was at ISL; and our most recent Agency Tour was in May at Ogilvy and had 46 attendees.
The 6-8pm timeframe on weeknights gives attendees ample time to chat with members of these renowned agencies, exchange business cards and industry knowledge with folks who have built some of the industry’s most memorable campaigns, and meet other members of Ad 2 DC, all the while enjoying light refreshments and snacks. Ad 2 DC is proud to spearhead this event series for club members and the wider community—an opportunity you and your friends won’t want to pass up.
The events kick off with a networking happy hour, then the hosting agency gives us a presentation on their capabilities, types of clients, past work, and current openings. Following the networking and presentation, each agency shows us around their office.
We work tirelessly before each Agency After Hours event to make sure we’re reaching the right people, implementing a strong promotional strategy, and selecting agencies that have made their mark in DC and at a national level. Once a tour date is secured, Ad 2 DC develops graphics so our communications team can start promoting within our Ad 2 and larger AAF networks; we also ask the agencies to promote internally to achieve the broadest reach.
Each event had great turnout and we saw a variety of new faces. Both attendees and agency employees gave positive feedback on how smoothly the tours went and how informative the presentations were. One speaker shared, “Glad [that] it was a success…feel free to stay in touch.”
Agency After Hours fulfilled our goal of diversifying Ad 2 DC events. We look forward to growing this event series and garnering an even greater turnout for future tours. Please join us for more of these adventures!
