CHIEF seeks an eager and experienced Content Strategist who brings a creative approach to breaking large content challenges down into smaller parts while maintaining an eye on the big picture.
As a Content Strategist, you will work in a highly collaborative environment to drive client impact and activate key audiences. This means bringing sound vision and proven expertise around discovery and analysis, content strategy, search engine optimization (SEO) and migration planning as well as development and quality assurance. Day to day, you'll work closely with clients, strategists, UX designers, and developers on large-scale websites that range from 500 to tens of thousands of pages—making content strategy critical to project success.
Work directly with clients to understand their long-term vision for their digital presence and translate it into strategy, content and workflows.
Conduct in-depth discovery to understand audience or marketplace needs and preferences (e.g. via surveys, interviews, workshops, social listening), review website performance and search, and perform website analysis through content inventories or audits to assess existing content and identify new content types.
Distill key insights into client-facing presentations or briefs that detail technical requirements, journey maps, user personas or stories.
Define the essential information that must be part of each content type, both fields and related content elements that should be pulled in dynamically.
Define taxonomy vocabularies and terms, map legacy terms to new terms, and specify how taxonomy should be used by users to filter content.
Lead or contribute to sketch sessions and wireframes to convey key elements of content, functionality and page structure.
Develop content strategy (including keyword research and SEO) and content development plans that consider the client’s full range of available communication platforms or channels.
Plan and direct content migrations by demonstrating how existing content will map to new content types and positions within the information architecture, migrate pages alongside other members of the project team, and perform migration QA using both manual and automated techniques (training in automated techniques provided).
Define key performance indicators (KPIs), configure website analytics (i.e. Google Tag Manager) and evaluate digital performance through analysis and reporting.
Create client-facing deliverables including workflow/governance documents, content management training guides, taxonomy documentation and content migration plans.
Draft website content and/or associated marketing assets for launch.
Analyze website or campaign performance, evolving mission and user needs to recommend content and/or functionality enhancements and assist with implementation.
Serve as a content subject matter expert throughout the lifecycle of the project.
